Rare large Meji Period (1868 -1912) Japanese Bronze elephant with ivory tusks in s realistic pose, striding forward with an upturned trunk (symbolising good luck) and set on naturalistic carved hardwood bases. The bronze modelling is of the highest quality with a realistic textured skin surface and original patina. In excellent original condition
