An early mahogany chest of drawers probably by 'James Mein of Kelso', the mahogany top with rounded corners, frieze with elegant quilling on the front and sides, with the rounded fore-edges carved with stacking rounded quadrants, with a configuration of three short over three full length drawers, all retaining the original brass locks with simple escutcheons, a beaded fore-edge and cast brass lion mask handles with a ring through the mouth, beneath the bottom drawer is a simple beading, all resting on four stylish fluted and turned feet.
