Item Description
An excellent carved gilt wood convex mirror dating from the Regency period. This good sized antique mirror is surmounted with a boldly carved eagle with spread wings which rest on decorative scrolls. The base of the frame is decorated with fluting and foliage, balancing the pediment. The original convex mercury mirror plate which is surrounded by an ebonized reeded slip has, over many years, acquired a very soft dappling... whilst this adds to the character and appeal of this antique mirror, the reflective element is retained. The general condition of the mirror is very good. This high quality, early 19th Century mirror is ready to hang and add Regency style to any interior.
