Alessio Tasca was an award winning Italian ceramicist. Fusing minimalist design and functionality, Tasca developed a process of passing clay through a triangular flange which he then moulded by hand to create the Cornovaso. Examples of his work, including the Cornovaso, are in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome.
