Item Details

A well executed pastel and pencil drawing of a delightful King Charles Spaniel signed and by Alfred Daniels. The perfect gift - or treat yourself!

We have had this bespoke framed behind glass, with simple ebonised wood and black mount. The size of the picture itself is 20cm by 27cm. Framed it is 32cm by 37cm and with a depth of 3.5cm.

Alfred Daniels was a British artist born in 1924 in East London. Known as Danny he was well known for his pictures of buildings, people and animals - 'the Lowry for Londoners'.

He became a member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1973 and was known for being critical at exhibitions, but was equally critical of his own work. He died in London in 2015. One of his last assignments was painting 2 pictures at the local dog show in Chiswick.

Interestingly, the building in the background is Chiswick House, so this picture is probably from one of the Shows that he painted for.
