A pair of framed oil paintings featuring sailing boats at dusk by 19th century Dutch artist Adrian Van Porten.


They have a lot of atmosphere and a feeling of antiquity.

They are housed in beautiful and ornate frames made from carved wood, gesso and gilded.


Each is signed by the artist and in good condition commensurate with age with no losses but a bit of crackling.


Van Porten's work has come up for sale at Christies and other London auction houses frequently and is well thought of. Most of his paintings were of marine subjects.
