https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/kontrastA late 19th century painted pine farmhouse table, constructed in solid pine throughout.
The table has a broad rectangular pine top with good aged colour, above two hand-dovetailed drawers fitted with large white porcelain screw-spigot knobs, which appear to be period and are believed likely original. Raised on four turned pine legs.
The base has been later painted in a gloss green, with areas of an earlier red-painted finish visible beneath. The contrast between the painted base, porcelain handles and naturally worn pine top gives the table a particularly good decorative appearance.
A practical size for use as a kitchen or dining table, or alternatively as a freestanding prep or work table.
The frame is sturdy and firm. There are old repairs, general wear associated with age and use, and evidence of historic woodworm, which has been professionally treated.
One drawer is slightly sticky in operation. two of the porcelain handles have losses.
