Item Details

A giltwood daybed in the Regency style, probably mid 20th century, with sweeping scroll ends of unequal height and continuous reeded mouldings. All matching supports - carved with feathered wings and scrolls resembling a boot aka a 'hermes foot'.

this shape

The backless form gives the frame a sculptural profile, while its worn gilt surface brings warmth and texture to the carved detail. Measuring just over two metres wide, it would make a distinctive addition to a drawing room, bedroom or generous hallway.
