Item Details

An antique Italian painted work table, a classic example of Venetian polychrome furniture, dating back to the late 18th or 19th century. Characterized by its highly decorative, hand-painted finish and charmingly slender proportions, it showcases the romantic, theatrical aesthetic that made Venice a capital of decorative arts during the Rococo and Neoclassical eras.


Featuring a deep, drum-shaped circular top that doubles as a storage well. The hinged lid lifts open, a design traditionally used as a ladies' sewing or work table


It stands elevated on four tall, elegant tapering square legs, the table features a classic Venetian ochre-yellow or mustard-yellow ground coat, a traditional base color used to mimic grander gilded furniture styles


Retaining an authentic, beautifully aged surface showing wonderful historic wear, minor paint loss, and a soft craquelure finish that highlights its genuine antique pedigree.
