Art Deco Egyptian revival appliqué wall hanging, Cairo,1900s, crafted by artisans to appeal to international visitors in response to the ‘Egyptomania’ craze of the era.


Featuring the Sphinx, Cleopatra's needle and the Pyramids, a winged goddess (possibly Nekhbet or Isis), stylized pharaohs, and hieroglyphic patterns, all flanked by decorative architectural pillars .


Beautiful red, mono and neutral tones throughout.
We also have two smaller square appliques of a similar manner listed separately

Good condition with some minor losses, signs of age and wear as to be expected
This is a flat applique, no hanging hooks or rings, pole not included.
