An exceptional Turtle basket by the highly acclaimed Mexican artist and sculptor Mario Lopez Torres, the metal frame and chuspata woven design modelled as a large sea turtle with brass eyes and a hinged lid is just wonderful, a true conversation piece.

This is one for the earlier models.

The button of authentication which is attached to all genuine Mario Lopez Torres sculptures and works of art is present on the inside.

Born in Mexico City in 1952 Mario Lopez Torres is today one of the most collectible and sought after designers in lighting, homewares and furniture, and his use of natural materials and traditional techniques make his pieces highly prized by many of today's leading interior designers.

This incredible basket is in superb condition and one of the very few pieces by Mario Lopez Torres available in the UK.
