Item Details

This fantastic woven bush fiber wild pig dream vehicle is hand crafted and knotted in fiber and raffia from the Iatmul Tribe Sepik River, Papua New Guinea. It has natural cowrie shell eyes and a handle to its back.

Dream vehicles are woven by the tribes women from rattan and hand spun string. They are often decorated with shell eyes and feathers. Shapes include birds, pigs, crocodiles and sometimes helicopters. They are usually kept hanging from the ceiling for the spirit to travel in while you sleeps. They are also used to teach tribal stories and aid clan members through dreams and requests


Wear commensurate with age as to be expected.
