A beautiful set of three early 19th Century French tin-glazed earthenware plates, probably from Varages, Provence.


Each plate is decorated with a central cobalt blue floral sprig enclosed by a simple wavy blue border, all painted by hand beneath a soft ivory glaze. The restrained decoration and honest craftsmanship are characteristic of the traditional faience produced in the Var region.
