Item Description
Satin birch dressing table, or desk
Designed as a dressing table, this is why there are no locks, it was thought that in a dressing table did not require locks but a desk did, however it would also work very well as either and a good compact size and colour. Presented in good condition throughout.
Comprising an unusual configuration of two deep drawers each side (usually three drawers to each side), each with a turned knob in matching satin birch, the drawers all with ash linings, which might suggest this is a Scottish made, but certainly ash was also used in England for better quality furniture too. The pedestals are on wheels so it can be moved about, the back is not polished so it is designed to be placed against a wall rather than in the middle of a room. It is made in three parts (tot top and two pedestals) the top is attached with screws so it can be deconstructed to allow access up stairs, or into a tight space.
82cm H (58cm H to kneehole, 72cm H to table top), 122cm W, 56cm D.
