https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/ljw-antiquesA real statement piece; this Kodaks enamel sign stands 1.8m high, has a vibrant red to yellow gradient background (really unusual but highly effective technique) and wonderfully detailed pictorial elements top and bottom showing an folding, bellowed camera and a stack of 120 film packets...
This sign was produced by the French enamel sign manufacturer Japy Beautor and is likely to date to the 1950s.
For a large piece the sign has survived the decades in very good order - a returned edge gives the piece rigidity, saving it from damage through bending and allowing it to display well with ease.
It has retained it's strong colours though the enamel's gloss has dulled slightly with some surface scratching and a few small areas of loss but this would have to be considered a good example.
It measures 180cm high x 35cm wide x 2cm deep.
