This is an antique cocktail cabinet. An English, mahogany and cast iron Great Exhibition era drinks stand in Egyptian revival taste, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.


Rare and delightfully fascinating, with a distinctive aesthetic finish
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order

Unusual form, with canted corners, the front pair hosting Egyptian Queen busts in cast iron
Lid opens back through 180 degrees, revealing a deep interior

This is a highly distinctive antique cocktail cabinet, with a period revival interest of Egyptian iconography accentuating the casework in a pleasingly original, and unusual manner. Typical of the expressive craftsmanship surrounding the Great Exhibition of 1851, this cabinet is a rare and endearing example.
