This is an antique design catalogue, Art Industriel. A French, soft cover lithography architectural folio, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1840.


Established in 1829, Henry Rittner (1802 - 1840) and Jean-Baptiste Adolphe Goupil (1806 - 1893) formed as a contemporary arts merchant and auction house known as Maison Goupil, headquartered in Paris. Upon the disappearance and passing of Rittner in 1840, Goupil partnered with Théodore Vibert to establish the company as Goupil, Vibert et Cie. The company was an eminent dealer in fine lithography and engravings, later opening international branches, including a New York premises.
