This is an antique drop leaf ladies work table. An English, mahogany sewing or writing table, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.


Beautifully appointed sewing table with wonderful Regency craftsmanship
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
Superb stocks show excellent grain interest throughout
Rich caramel hues beam beneath a wax polish finish


Drop leaf top extends usefully, supported by articulated flying arms
Fascinating writing drawer, with fold out leather skiver and pen box
Duo of drawers upon the front aspect, with a single and double height drawer box
Faux drawer fascia to the reverse affords central room placement
Ebonised circular pulls adorn each fascia along with inset brass locks — untested, key absent


Sliding wool bag with champagne coloured silk cotton situated to the lower edge
Of deep proportion, the wool bag being tastefully lined with a quality blush pink baize
Standing upon pairs of long, graceful legs with a turned stretcher uniting each side
The table riding smoothly upon a quartet of articulated brass castors
