This is an antique Gazak rug. A Middle Eastern, nomadic tribal woven decorative carpet, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1900.

Great colour and of near-square size at 119cm x 131cm (46.75" x 51.5")
Displaying a desirable aged patina with minimal fading and in good original order
Wonderfully decorated with bold diamond geometric patterns, a hallmark of the nomadic Gazak rug
Tightly woven in durable wools and kilim, this attractive rug is well suited to the entrance hall

Bright colour palette with unusual orange, purple and green diamonds accentuated with deep pink
Half diamond tramline border to each side, with an outer checkerboard pattern
Finished with bands of loose, medium length tassels to either end
