This is an antique gentleman's glove box. An English, walnut sarcophagus shaped keepsake or card case, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1870.

Burr walnut to lid adds further grain interest

Original silk cotton lining to the lid reverse in attractive aqua blue hue
