This is an antique Pembrokeshire spinning chair. A Welsh, carved oak work stool, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.


Beautifully presented example with fascinating carved decoration

Superb relief carvings accentuate the tall, narrow back rest and octagonal seat


The crown atop the long backrest features a delightful heart motif
Eye-catching water dragon relief to the backrest, the fins portrayed as acanthus carvings

Bold octagonal seat hosts a distinctive scaled tail within a wave motif
Raised upon a quartet of bobbin turned legs and adorned with carved collars
