This is an antique smoker's bow chair. An English, elm and beech country house elbow seat, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1904.

Baluster turned spindles rise obliquely as a support for the striking horseshoe armrest
Each serpentine arm terminates in out-turned scrolled hand grips


Comfortable saddle squab with defined leg scallops, at a height of 44cm (17.25'')
Standing upon a quartet of turned baluster legs united by double 'H' stretchers
Maker's mark for William Bartlett & Sons of High Wycombe with the date stamped 1904
