This is a large vintage Hamadan hall carpet. A Persian, quality lounge or hallway rug, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950.

Displays a desirable aged patina - light sun fading and minimal signs of wear under close inspection
Quality woven pile with predominantly blue and red dyed wools
Offers a comfortable underfoot feel to any room

Large trio of blue shields host red octagonal foliate medallions
Each issuing flowering vines in an array of colourful hues
Narrow tramline borders with triangular segments alternating with each medallion and to corners
Bands of short tassels at one end in good order
