This is a pair of vintage carved lion bookends. An Oriental, ebonised ironwood book rest with animal figure interest, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Ferocious lion forms, with a charming decorative appearance

Prominent teeth to the open mouths create a dynamic, prowling look
