This is a set of 4 vintage cups and saucers. An English, ceramic and hallmarked silver coffee can by Aynsley, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930.
Wonderfully petite with striking silver handles
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in original order
Quality ceramic decorated with cobalt blue and gilt highlights over a white ground
Lightly tarnished silver handles with pierced decor
Each cup resplendent with a gently flared rim and accentuated with a gilt finish
Blue and white checkerboard pattern adorns the upper
Distinctive mottled blue band contrasts nicely with the silver fretwork
Decor and flared form repeats upon each saucer
Maker's mark to base of each cup and saucer for Aynsley of Staffordshire
Hallmarks to silver for James Dixon & Sons, with Sheffield assay mark and date letter 'N' for 1930
