A striking antique brass surveyor’s level by Davis & Sons, mounted on an oak tripod stand. The finely crafted brass instrument features a cylindrical viewing level with articulated adjustment fittings.


The oak tripod has a rich, time-worn finish and a carry strap.



The stand is engraved “Stand Lamp OR Helio A Mark III L.A.M.”, adding an intriguing industrial and decorative character to the piece. No longer simply a surveying instrument, this is an exceptional architectural and industrial decorative object.



A rare and highly decorative example combining 19th/early 20th-century scientific instrumentation with rustic craftsmanship and strong sculptural appeal.
