A fine example of late 18th century furniture, this George III oak chest of drawers features beautiful proportions and elegant detailing, making it a striking yet practical addition to any interior.


The chest is fitted with five graduated drawers, all with raised fronts and original locks. The drawer fronts are framed with delicate walnut crossbanding and refined boxwood string inlay, giving a subtle contrast and highlighting the rich oak grain.


The drawers have pine lining, the carcass is solid oak, standing on shaped bracket feet with a gently moulded base, typical of the George III period.


The chest has a warm, mellow patina developed over more than two centuries of use.
