A fine Regency period mahogany games table of elegant proportions, raised on a shaped pedestal base with swept legs terminating in attractive brass paw castors.


The table retains a beautiful, naturally faded mahogany colour and well-figured grain throughout.


The rectangular top lifts and swivels to reveal a playing surface with satinwood inlaid border, the upper side featuring a striking ebony and satinwood inlaid chessboard.


The top and frieze are decorated with crossbanding in satinwood and delicate boxwood string inlay.


The table is fitted with a small drawer at either end, providing practical storage for chess pieces or gaming counters.


A stylish and versatile Regency piece, both decorative and functional.
