Item Details

A beautiful 19th century giltwood and polychrome angel alter candle stick. Circa 1880.


Wonderfully crisp hand-carved lime. Note the spectacular water gilded folds of the gown, and serene polychrome painted features. The angel has gilt wings and sits on an oak pedestal base having a marbled design, with carrying handle either side.


There has been a historic repair to the wings at the back, and these are secure. Overall signs of rubbing and wear to the finish, commensurate with age and use.
