https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/matt-crosby-interiorsAn Elizabeth II Modernist sterling silver salt and pepper pot set by George Edward Grant - London 1971. Fully hallmarked.
These superb pots are of cylindrical form with textured banded decoration. They have a nice tactile feel to them. The silver base caps twist neatly to remove, these are also hallmarked. The interiors have been cleaned and are ready for use.
In very good vintage condition, showing some light signs of use. The salt pot has a slight flat surface to the base's side.
George Edward Grant was born c. 1935, he undertook a pre-apprenticeship course at London's Central School of Arts and Crafts and subsequently served as an apprentice with Leslie Durbin. Later he worked for Michael Murray.
He established his own workshop at Rosebery Avenue, London in 1959. George was a fine craftsman who produced a great deal of ecclesiastical work. Technically superb - if other silversmiths had problems they would often ask George to 'sort it'!
Delivery included to the UK.
