19th Century English Antique Serpentine Door Stop


A beautiful 19th century antique door stop made from a lovely shaped and polished piece of Cornish serpentine marble. It is in excellent condition with no damage. A good size and with the original brass ring carry handle to the top. Named Serpentine as it resembles the skin of a snake, derived from the Latin ‘serpens’. This example dates from the late 19th century.
