C.R.Ashbee Guild of Handicraft Large Antique Oak Coffer


A wonderful, large scale English 19th century antique oak coffer, a design by C.R.Ashbee for the English Guild of Handicraft furniture makers in the Cotswolds and London in the Arts & crafts manner.
This is a superb, very honest example which is a fabulous original colour and is complete with all the original Guild of Handicraft metal ware which includes a lovely heart shaped escutcheon and large iron hinges. A simple planked design with wonderful, square pad feet. In excellent clean condition. A rare Ashbee piece of antique furniture that provides a huge amount of storage. Dates to around 1890.
