English Antique Oak Prisoner Bench from Solihull Police Station Circa 1851


A superb long solid antique oak bench seat, originally made in 1851 for the old Solihull Police Station. The prisoners sat on the bench whilst being processed before entering custody in the original two cells. This English mid 19th century antique bench seat is a wonderful colour, stands firmly on three, front gun barrel turned legs and with splayed legs to the back. This interesting antique prisoners bench that has large roll over arms supported by columns with an open back rest. In superb, solid condition and with interesting provenance.
