Rare Arts & Crafts Antique Oak Dresser by Henry Woodyer
A very rare antique oak English Arts & Crafts sideboard by Henry Woodyer for Twyford Moor House in 1861. Woodyer was an English architect, the only pupil of William Butterfield, who was a disciple of Pugin and The Ecclesiological Society. This antique Woodyer dresser was one of only a few free standing pieces in the Twyford Moors House, Winchester. Made in solid oak in the Gothic Revival manner to match the house, this antique oak dresser features open oak shelving over a large, two door cupboard. The dresser was limed along with other existing furniture in 1933 after the house became a hotel. A very rare piece with such super provenance, beautifully made in a quality rarely seen today. In excellent condition.
