Andreu Bosch i Canals was a renowned Catalan painter and draughtsman from Sarrià, Barcelona, best known for his evocative landscape paintings. He studied at the Escola de la Llotja under the influential artist Modest Urgell, whose melancholic style deeply shaped Bosch Canals’ early work. Over time, he developed a more vibrant and personal use of color while remaining rooted in the romantic tradition of early 20th-century Catalan art.


Active from the 1910s to the 1960s, Bosch i Canals exhibited in major Barcelona galleries such as Galeries Dalmau, Galeries Laietanes, Sala Gaspar, and Sala Pallarès. His work was consistently praised in leading newspapers including La Vanguardia, El Noticiero Universal, and La Publicitat.


Although he avoided the spotlight and produced a relatively limited number of works—around 276 in total—Bosch i Canals is valued by collectors for his refined technique, atmospheric compositions, and historical significance within the Catalan art scene.
