Description
A rare and lyrical mid-century landscape by Catalan artist Tomàs Bel, this original mixed media composition on canvas masterfully captures the poetic stillness of the rural countryside. With its muted palette of mauve, slate, and earthy ochres, the painting evokes a dreamlike calm—trees rise like silhouettes, a chapel nestles quietly among soft hills, and stylized clouds drift across a dusky sky. Subtle textures and layered forms hint at abstraction, yet the composition remains rooted in place and memory.

Signed lower left and dated verso, the piece is framed in a deep wooden box frame with brushed gold detailing, enhancing its vintage modern charm.

Bel’s mastery lies in his ability to simplify forms without losing their emotional weight. His work speaks softly, yet resonates long after viewing—a meditation in tone, texture, and tranquility.
