Baruch Shalom Oskotsky, also known as Bernard Scott (1918-1990) was a British painter and printmaker born into an orthodox Jewish family in London's east end in 1918. He studied at St Martin's School of Art on a scholarship awarded by London County Council. He won first place in a mural competition at St Martin's, and his design was consequently painted on the wall of the school. His work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy, Camden Arts Centre and the Whitechapel Art Gallery, and has also been the subject of solo exhibitions at Drian Galleries and Rene Daron Gallery in Tel-Aviv. A retrospective of Oskotsky's work was held at the Ben Uri Art Gallery in 1995.
