Though not dated the quality of the finishing, colour, weight and the internal structure would point to this fine pedestal being manufactured early in the 19th Century, soon after Blashfields terracotta works was established. Almost certainly using the same high temperature firing as the Coade manufacturer, possibly even using the same artisans and moulds purchased when the Coade factory closed. Great scale and presence.
