A beautifully modelled true pair with a fabulous presence these Lions are indeed very rare. I have owned them for over 30 years and have never seen a similar pair. I believe they date from the very early 19th century possibly by the Carron foundry. The understated modelling, visible seam marks and patina all suggest pre-industrial revolution. British Regency period. Very lovely company in any home!
