C1870 An Unusual Scottish Gilt Wood Bevelled Mirror in the shape of a Lyre.
As an attribute of Apollo, the god of prophecy and music, the lyre to the ancient Greeks symbolized wisdom and moderation.
The label on the back of the mirror says the mirror was made by a family of Italian immigrants on Scotland.
