A student of Marino Marini, she studied art at the Brera Academy. In 1953, she received a scholarship to Paris, where the art collector Christian Zervos introduced her to the Swiss painter and sculptor Alberto Giacometti. During her time in Paris, she met several figures associated with the Cubist movement, including the sculptor Henri Laurens, who was enthusiastic about her work, and the German gallery owner Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, where Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso exhibited. She was introduced to Fernand Mourlot's studio, which she would frequent again, and worked for Giorgio Upiglio's Milanese studio.
Beginning in 1954, she held several exhibitions at the Galleria Il Milione in Milan and at the Galleria dell'Ariete, before moving abroad to cities such as Brussels with two solo exhibitions and several group shows, before returning to her hometown.
Toward the end of her career, she illustrated with eight of her own engravings a re-edition (published in 1991) of the work "Sul gatto" (On the Cat) (1845) by the Milanese poet and physician Giovanni Rajberti.
Among her contemporary Italian artist friends are Floriano Bodini, Luciano Minguzzi, and Franco Russoli.
