Item Details

Antique French mirror, circa 1870, with pale gilt undulating frame decorated with a delicate etching of leaves, flowers and stems. The original gilding has thinned through years of dusting allowing hints of pale terracotta and cream gesso to show through. The original glass has a little light age but gives an excellent reflection and this very attractive mirror can be hung portrait, as photographed, or landscape. This style of mirror has become very hard to find, very desirable and very expensive to buy in France and this one was no exception!
