Item Details

Antique rectangular French mirror, circa 1850, with silverleafed rippled frame. Where the mirror has been dusted for over 150 years, the silverleaf has thinned a little, revealing the cream gesso and terracotta bole beneath and giving the frame a pleasing patina. The original, mercury glass has some gentle age and sparkles well when it catches the light, giving a very good reflection. This handsome mirror can be hung portrait (as photographed) or landscape.
