19th century Italian mirror with outset corners, circa 1820, with rare silverleafed frame decorated with a punched design of scrolling stems and flowers set within a geometric border. Where the silverleaf has thinned over many years of dusting, the dark terracotta bole is showing through, giving the mirror frame a warm glow. The original mercury glass is in very good condition, sparkles when it catches the light and gives an excellent reflection. This lovely and unusual mirror will work well in many different settings.
