Item Details

Early 19th century French mirror with a layered gilt frame. The gently incurving central section is decorated with a raised, intricate design of curling acanthus leaves and stems set between two raised, narrow gilt bands which have worn slightly revealing the terracotta bole beneath the gold leaf. The original mercury glass has gentle age towards the base of the mirror, which sparkles when it catches the light and still gives a very good reflection.
