Late 19th/early 20th century, extremely large, antique Italian frameless mirror with gently curving top decorated with giltwood scrolling and pierced acanthus leaves with a small, laughing, naughty, little face tucked into the base of the central carved decoration. More giltwood leaves provide a resting place for the base of the frame which has supporting legs to hold the mirror off the floor. The central glass has a wide hand-cut bevel and is attached to the wooden back with little silver metal hand-clasps. There is age in the central glass in the form of horizontal streaking but no damage and the manufacturer's label shows us that the mirror was made by Gaetano Corbetta in Milano (Milan).
