Item Details

Rectangular Venetian style mirror, circa 1920, with alternating elongated and small scallop cuts decorating both outside edges of the frame and a burnished oval central frame design. Each section of the frame is held in place with a glass leaf and these are secured with little glass flower-topped screws. There is age, mostly in the frame and a little in the central glass, but this mirror still gives an excellent reflection. Purchased at auction in Evreux, France, we had to collect this mirror from the entrance hall of a private house, where it had been hanging landscape since it was purchased in the 1910s but it can also hang portrait, as photographed.
