Item Details

This is my favourite type of Banjara cushion. It's made from a Banjara kalchi or envelope bag in a madder dyed hand spun hand loomed cotton. The layers of fabric are stitched together with tiny quilting stitches and the patterns picked out in coloured couched threads. The needle work is very skilled in even neat stitching. I really like the use of colours and the decorative pom poms and cowries shells around the edges. I've backed the cushion with a plain linen, and there is an invisible zip fastener and feather pad.
