These cushions are made from a vintage aso oke from the Yoruba ethnic group in Nigeria. The aso oke was woven with a blue floating weft in a zig zag pattern. I've used the reverse of the cloth for the front of the cushion, (so the zig zag dosen't show) and the tiny blue dots are where the float is anchored. The cloth is grey in colour, with some lovey texture and there are bright blue stripes down the middle in rayon. I've backed the cushions with a natural coloured hemp and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
