Item Details

A 19th century French commode. Recently sourced in south west France this pretty commode is a fine example of this particular model. The grey marble top is flecked with white veining together with a smattering of ancient fossils. It sits above four drawers. The top drawer can be opened with its key with three further drawers below. Each of the three drawers have decorative antiqued brass ring handles together with matching escutcheons. The drawer fronts have the prettiest walnut veneers book matched to form a unique pattern across the entire surface. The carcass is sound and the drawers fit well within and run smoothly. Super warm honey colour with rich patina. French walnut commode circa 1870.
